A LABOR OF LOVE
The Melissa is a made-to-order piece that is fully customizable – with over 3,500 potential combinations, there's an option for everyone! The Melissa begins with a carefully chosen piece of Howlite (see photos for example of Howlite in it's natural form) that is rigorously inspected by a geologist to ensure that it meets our quality standards. Next, it is shaped, polished, dyed, sealed and drilled. We then look at your order and customize your piece by selecting your colors, then wire wrapping each stone by hand, and stringing it on the cord of your choice; every Melissa is made by hand in Austin, Texas, USA by our artisans that are paid ethical, living wages. Before each is sent out, they are inspected again for quality, before being carefully packaged and shipped out. $5 is donated to the charity of YOUR choice, because, well that's what we're all about. What's more? In crystal healing, Howlite is often used as a stone of awareness, as it is believed to help in understanding yourself, others, and the surrounding world, because of this, it is commonly used to aid in meditation and focussing of the mind.
